Handwriting Pre-Skills
Handwriting Grip and Posture

Name Writing:
GOAL: The student will write his/her name the "school way."

Capital letters should only be written at the beginning of the child's name, unless the given name requires more than one capital letter ie: MaryAnne.

Sample: Yes: Tyler Not: TYlEr or tYLeR

To help your learner practice writing his/her name begin with the first letter, practicing it several times each day. Add the second letter, practicing the first and second letters for a few days. Keep adding letters until your student is successful. Give lots of smiles, praise, and encouragement for good work along the way.
